Oxford United Legends Evening

Written by on 15 March, 2019

There was a good turnout for the Oxford United Legends Evening with Banbury United manager Mike Ford and former player Les Robinson reminiscing about their football career at The Manor and elsewhere.

Banbury United Club Ambassador Ronnie Johnson compered the evening and our very own Dave England prompted Mike and Les with questions.

Both gave a great insight into the life of lower league professional footballers in the 1980s and 1990s – talking about how they came into the game, who were the biggest influences on their careers, memorable matches and opponents and best players they played with.

Les was also keen to go off piste and told some interesting stories about trips overseas and Mike, but what goes on tour/legends’ night stays on tour/legends’ night!
