Station Manager picks up Lifetime Volunteer Award

What has been a good year already for our Station Manager, Stewart Green, got even better on Tuesday, when he was awarded something special in the Sanctuary Housing and Cherwell District Council ‘Love Where You Live’ Volunteer Awards.

There is a huge network of volunteers throughout Cherwell and an evening celebration was an aknowledgement of their hard work, enthusiasm, care and dedication to helping others.

Stewart was shortlisted for the Lifetime Volunteer award for all the work he has done in the community, with Radio Horton, Hospital Radio for 33 years and more recently his work with this non-profit radio station for the community. Stewart was delighted to take the top award.

Stewart said “Well i can’t believe it, I’ve only gone and won the Lifetime Volunteer Category in the Sanctuary Housing and Cherwell District Council ‘Love Where You Live’ Volunteer Awards earlier tonight, thank you so much for my nominations, feel proud.”

Councillor McHugh said “Volunteers are at the heart of so many initiatives. Volunteers have the power to truly transform lives – including ttheir own. They help to create social inclusion and transform communities’ one person at a time. This is a great opportunity to make sure that they get the recognition they deserve.”
