Written by on 14 July, 2019

People’s Park Centenary Celebrations (Includes Centenary Procession from the Bandstand in the High Street to the People’s Park, Banbury.

A fantastic community procession to celebrate 100 years of the People’s Park. A walking procession, led by a Fine Lady on a White Horse, from the Town Hall to the People’s Park included Puritans Radio, Lynne Baldwin, Olwen Baker, Stuart Robbins (guest) and Richard Hamilton.

A full arena programme hosted by ourselves, included the Royal British Legions Shires Band, Stagecoach, Banbury Cross Twirlers, Joanne Mills School of Dance, Adderbury Village Morris Men, Dance with the DJ, our Chris, Adderbury Ukes (Ukulele Band), Dogs for Good, Dave Earle and Matt Fiddes Martial Arts.

There was plenty to do for all the family, go-karts, crazy golf, fairground, tea tent, Punch and Judy, face painting, dog show and a vast range of groups and charities carrying out lots of participation activities throughout the event.

The event also gave the opportunity to view the park’s history covering many years.

Thanks to our team who helped, Darren Hillman, Pete Emms, Brian Baker, Stewart Green, Richard Hamilton, Olwen Baker, Lynne Baldwin, Chris Baxter, Dave England and Nicola Strangwood, Banbury United’s Dave Wyatt for towing the vehicle and a special thanks to the Banbury Town Council for inviting us to be part of this special event.
